Karnataka Braces for Heavy Rain as Cyclonic System Intensifies in Bay of Bengal
Hubballi: The low-pressure system forming over the southeastern part of the Bay of Bengal is expected to have a significant impact on Karnataka, with the possibility of heavy rainfall across the state, including the capital, Bengaluru. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning predicting heavy downpours in 25 districts of the state.
As a precaution, a yellow alert has been announced for the districts of Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Ballari, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, Shivamogga, and Tumakuru.
Due to the cyclone’s effects, heavy rains are expected in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha. Currently, the low-pressure system in the southeastern Bay of Bengal is intensifying, and over the next two days, it is likely to strengthen further, potentially causing significant disruptions.
